[ The Lament of the Minotaur. ]
For the longest while my “nickname” on Facebook has been Rey de los Minotauros (King of the Minotaurs). I have always felt very familiar to this mythological creature. We are so used to seeing him depicted as a vicious, angry creature —- yet we rarely run into a depiction of him in his infinite sadness. One must look deeper to truly understand the depths of somberness which this creature felt. The deformed, misunderstood gift to Minos who was so strangely beautiful that he was locked away in a maze forever until he were finally slain by the by the devious Theseus. This statue has such a deep impact on me. You can not help but feel his pain as he sits there, one finger placed upon his horn, so very vividly questioning his own deformed, odd nature.
If anyone knows where it is located, please let me know.
