Right between the Carnic Alps peaks, along the Italy-Austria border, there are a lot of bunkers and shelters built during World War I. They were used to observe enemy movements and artillery stations, nowadays they can only offer protection from bad weather to humans and animals. (photo and text by Padraic Giardina)
