In the old 24-micro-season calendar of Japan, 小夏 (lesser summer) and 大夏 (greater summer) were the last of the six summer seasons, and 寒露 (cold dew) and 霜降 (frostfall) were the last of the six fall seasons, marking the transition into winter.
