Stop comparing yourself to others, your art’s worth is not measured by how likes it gets, or how many people say they like it. There is always somebody who does it better. Every time. It’ll always be that way, you can’t get around it no matter what you do.
You make art to do something for you. If someone responds after the fact, that’s just icing on the cake. Your art is unique because it’s made by you, crafted by you. It will literally never exist unless you created it. There might be a slew of similar things, but the one you made can only be found written in your hand. Your voice comes through in your work.
If you’re really in love with something, others will come and love it too. Maybe for the same reasons, or maybe for reasons completely different.
Things like popularity are really just down to dumb luck and putting yourself out there. Emphasis dumb luck though. So my advice is to not worry about it. Get your stuff out there, hope for the best.
