Last year we introduced you to an Ocarina of Time 2D project which was met with a lot of excitement but also some understandable skepticism. After all, it wasn’t the first attempt at recreating the game in 2D and all prior attempts have fallen apart. So far however, this project is bucking that trend and has shown continuing monthly updates ever since. They released a new version of the game since we last posted about it, but more importantly they have a 3rd version on it’s way featuring multiplayer capabilities.

Of course, the Zelda fan in me would rather see them focus on more progress into the game itself rather than multiplayer, but one can’t blame them for having some fun. That and they certainly have added more content to go along with it. Given the small size of the team behind this and their limited resources and time availability, this is a project that could be many more years in the making before it is done. What is promising however is the continued progress being made – of which you can watch above or watch below. You can also download the latest playable demo right here. What do you think?
