the thing about SU is, in my experience, watching someone get into it from the beginning can be frustrating because for a lot of people the show doesn’t really suck you in until you’ve seen a number of episodes. I’ve tried to get people into the show and at first they’re disinterested or just not that invested and then at some point it just clicks and they LOVE it. It’s always a different point for different people, but from my observation eventually there’s one episode that just makes the show click in place and makes people super interested, and its not even necessarily the episode itself but the cumulative information up to that point where it just reaches the tipping point and invests people. I have friends who do not watch cartoons who decided to check it out and love it. It just takes some time to reach that point for some folks, and its not even because the early episodes or bad or anything, its just one of those things.

like, my brother didn’t like the show at first. I tried to get him into it but it couldn’t hold his attention and he’d even make fun of it sometimes from the commercials. But eventually, later on in the run he decided to give it another shot because I never shut up about it. He caught a few random episodes on reruns (I remember the first episode that seemed to make an impression on hims was “Watermelon Steven” and “Island Adventure”) which prompted him to go back and watch it from the beginning. Now he’s a huge fan and tries to keep current and we talk about it whenever he visits
