OMG I think about this ALL THE TIME.  Astrid is fierce and would protect everyone, and Hiccup would have all this free time to do his dragon exploring shit without worrying about the villagers.  Because Astrid would fuck up anything that messed with with the village.

They should make a third movie so they can fix this travesty of storytelling. D:<
