So I was doing some reading about chakras and crystals and something I found very interesting was a few connections I made between Garnet (ruby x sapphire) from Steven universe and the heart chakra. While the primary location of the heart chakra is your chest/heart, there are also two minor heart chakras, one in each palm of your hand. Ruby and Sapphire each have a gem in their hand and when they’re fused to form Garnet she has a gem in each hand. What I really love about this potential symbolism is that the heart chakra represents love and compassion which is pretty much the whole essence of Garnets being. She was created from love and she exerts so much compassion to her fellow gems and Steven. Garnet as a crystal is usually associated with the root chakra but also used for heart chakra practices as well! I’m not sure if the creators had any intention with this but it’s quite an amazing coincidence! 💕
