the paper the term came from was a nonblack woman who was trying to trace back the coined term from 1910-1930 which is a LONG time ago. it WAS coined by a black woman, but not everything that a black person says or coins is aave and thats what this site (as a whole) needs to stop doing. tumblr needs to stop assuming everything and anything a black person says back in the 30s-90s is aave bc we can’t even trace back half of that shit. and black people need to stop writing over our own history and claiming it be something else when it’s not. the entire “wlw is aave” is entirely misinterpretation that black lesbians are trying to correct but a lot of nonblack “allies” are trying to be more insistent that it is bc they think they know more.

bottom line is that wlw isnt aave and yall need to stop spreading misinfo without acting doing research AND need to stop believing everything you see on this site. its not good.
