since today is intersex awareness day, here’s a reminder that sexual dimorphism theory (the idea that there are 2 sexes with distinct characteristics exclusive to each) hasn’t been scientifically sound since its conception, and even if they teach it in schools as if it’s fact we all have a responsibility to unlearn it. not only is it not fact, it’s directly oppressive to intersex people, and every action that assumes it is true is harmful to us.
